Antique Double Knot Pictorial Rug - 7x4.5ft

Bring museum-worthy character into your home with our Antique Hand-Knotted Mughal Pictorial Rug, a 50+ year old double-knot piece woven in super fine quality.

Like a miniature painting come to life, this rug tells a story in wool: a richly robed nobleman in a plumed turban stands with his attendants, overseeing workers who dig and shape the land beside rocky hills, blossoming trees, and a domed palace. A calligraphic verse in a cream cartouche runs across the scene, in the tradition of Persian and Mughal court art. Soft aqua skies, warm chocolate earth, ivory, and deep navy give the rug a calm, storybook palette, framed by a dense navy floral vine border. Decades of age have given it a soft, lived-in patina that new rugs can’t replicate, making it a true conversation piece for living rooms, studies, entryways, or as wall art.
